Warm and cosy

"soluna" range of lamps from wissner-bosserhoff

Wissner-Bosserhoff is expanding its range around the bedside reading lamp "soluna", designed by "sieger design". At the Altenpflege + ProPflege trade fair from 24th to 26th March 2009 in Nuremberg, "soluna" is appearing for the first time as a range of lights, namely with a reading lamp for nursing home beds and bedside cabinets, with a floor lamp and a table lamp. They emanate a warm and cosy light that can be individually adapted to every situation. The wave-shaped lampshade, with its semi-translucent character, stands out as a special design theme of the "soluna" lamp programme.
Light, as a sensual perception, has an influence on people's well-being. Particularly for elderly people and those in need of care who have restricted vision, proper lighting increases the quality of life. It provides support in orientation and contributes to safety aspects. Having a light source in the resident's direct sphere of activity that fits harmonically into the surroundings helps to provide comfort.
With the "soluna" lamps, Wissner-Bosserhoff is presenting useful and well-designed furnishing details. They are equipped with a swivel arm, which enables precise positioning for the object to be illuminated. All "soluna" lamps can be adjusted in height through a flexible tube and turned 180 degrees. The light intensity and direction can be set individually: Bright diffused light for nursing tasks, focussed light for reading, muted television light or glare-free basic lighting.
The reading lamp, which is attached to the lifting pole sleeve on the nursing bed or to the bedside cabinet, is optimally matched to both the nursing home bed and the bedside cabinet, and can be adjusted ergonomically to the resident's position. A high level of comfort is ensured by the easily accessible cord switch, with its orientation diode for operation at night. The CE-compliant 12-volt transformer, tested according to European standards EN 60598-1 and EN 60598-2-25/A1 as well as the applicable VDE regulations, guarantees safety. Optionally, the light can be connected directly to the nursing bed by means of a so-called E-box solution, so that no second mains cable, presenting a possible tripping hazard, is needed. Due to its universal plug adapter, the design bedside reading lamp fits in not only with Wissner-Bosserhoff nursing home beds and bedside cabinets.
The halogen spotlight provides warm, harmonised light with a high light quality for reading, bedside and floor lamps, and distributes the light effect homogenously and glare-free through its harmonised reflector technology.
The LED technology of the "soluna" range of lamps, expected to be available from July 2009, should provide economic advantages. These are reinforced by their robustness and low energy consumption, as well as their long product life. In addition, LEDs have the advantage of being quiet, not getting hot, and they also emit neither ultraviolet nor infrared radiation. They therefore provide convincing arguments for comfort and safety.
