wissner-bosserhoff and the group of companies mourn the loss of Bernd W. Weber
Wickede, February 13, 2012 – Bernd W. Weber, managing director of wissner-bosserhoff GmbH, WIBO holding GmbH and recently also the WIBO Services GmbH, passed away at the age of 55 on Saturday, February 4, 2012, after a short but severe illness.
For more than 15 years, Bernd W. Weber had shaped the successful development of
the company with great business acumen, purposefulness, discipline and philanthropy.
He deserves particular credit for building up wissner-bosserhoff as one of the leading providers of hospital and nursing home beds, now inseparably associated with the core values of quality, innovation and growth. With his personal commitment and his competent and at the same time fair style of leadership, he sustainably molded the spirit of the company.
Starting in 1996, Bernd W. Weber first had to prove himself as a gentle restructuring specialist. Without ever losing sight of employees, he sustainably improved wissnerbosserhoff‘s financial situation and secured the company’s autonomy. With his handpicked management team, he then tackled designing the future. Under his leadership, innovative nursing home beds like contempora, carisma or sentida were developed, which now represent wissner-bosserhoff’s motto of “functional elegance in nursing care”. The production facilities in Wickede were modernized step by step, turning them into a
model operation that customers enjoy to visit and, with the “White Villa”, the perfect wissner-bosserhoff headquarters were set up. Proof of his extraordinary entrepreneurial vision is the internationalization of the business, which Bernd W. Weber propelled early and consistently. As a corporative partner in the WIBO holding, he accompanied and supported the successful growth of the Czech subsidiary, Slaný-based LINET, and started wissner-bosserhoff subsidiaries in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Spain. He thus created a stable basis for the continuous growth and above-average results of the group and made it possible to achieve a record turnover in the past financial year. With a turnover of 127 Million Euro and sales of about 66,000 electric motor beds delivered to hospitals and nursing homes worldwide, the group has become the leading European provider in its market segments – providing safe and future-proof jobs for more than 800 employees.
Bernd W. Weber always demonstrated dedication to the entire branch. He was commited to his work as a representative of bed manufacturers in the SPECTARIS association in Berlin. In 2009, he was awarded the “SPECTARIS honorary bear” for his extensive voluntary work.
The unexpected passing of Bernd W. Weber filled us all with deep grief.
wissner-bosserhoff GmbH and the entire company group have lost their respected managing director and a valued person.
We will keep him in honored memory.
